Book Cover Project

Blue Rose Gossips by Nyla Brooks. Not yet out, which explains the far-off date. This project I'm relatively pleased with.

Movie Poster Project

Class assignment - Create a movie poster.

My choice for movie - The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn. It's a real novel written by Dorothy & Thomas Hoobler, as is based in ancient Japan. The story is of a merchant's son who winds up going on an adventure helping Judge Ooka to help solve the mystery of who stole the ruby a samurai noble was carrying to present to the Shogun. In this adventure, there's cross-dressing men (As back then Kabuki actors were all male), sword-play, and even a history lesson concerning religion tolerance of old Japan! An excellent read, for sure!

Contrast Collage Project

"Look, Ma! This spider likes me!"

Silliness aside, this is a project done in Fundamental of Imaging class. The assignment was to take an unnatural element (that shiny red Motorcycle) and place it within nature (in this case, a cave). The spider was thrown in there for dramatic's sake (and I love that picture). Believe it or not, the motorcycle and the blue cave entrance are the only pictures found on google. (Meaning I do not own them.) The spider was a photo taken on my front porch, and the cave was pieced together from my vacation photos. (Interestingly enough, the water and rocky ledge blocking part of/placed under the motorcycle were pictures taken in the sunny outside air. And that wall? One section of the cave was used... over, and over...and over...)
